During the last several decades, thermal insulation materials underwent considerable technological evolution owing to the needs of our civilisation, which drive the improvement of existing materials or the search for new ones that will satisfy the growing needs of the construction industry in terms of their quality and quantity. The innovations related to thermal insulation materials presented in this paper concern mainly the search for high-performance insulation materials but also the development of materials that will use natural resources in a sustainable manner.
